Phew

Just been getting a friend's broadband up and running. This was not helped by the fact that the company don't give you all the information you need. They tell you how to install the software and plug in the hardware. But they *don't* tell you that your user name for broadband is not the same as your user name for dial-up. So you have to ring their 10p a minute technical support (which is obviously in India) to find this out, veeerrrry sllloooowlllly. ("Thank you for your patience." Arggh!) It wasn't helped by the fact that this was on a Mac, which I'm not too familiar with. And the fact that the software didn't install properly first time, and I had to uninstall and start again. It took two hours for what should have been a five minute job.

Still, I get meal in the Bamboo Garden as a reward, so it's not all bad...
